Getting to Victoria Falls
By Air:
City of Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) has an international airport which is approximately 20 miles from the town and is serviced by several flights a day from various destinations. We advise kindly to book an airport transfer in advance because there are ussually no taxis waiting outside.
By Car:
Is definitely an option, fuel is generally available and roads around Victoria Falls are in good conditions. When travelling further roads are more deteriorated and we dont recommend travelling at night.
By Bus:
For those who just want to travel cheap from point A to point B, there are buses that have daily schedules. Departing in the morning as well as in the evening between Victoria Falls and Harare, passing through Bulawayo and the smaller towns in between. They are no luxury buses, and they do not offer any extra amenities and will make a few quick stops along the way for breaks
By Train:
Regular train services no longer run between South Africa and Victoria Falls has been discontinued.
There is however a luxury train service that travels directly to Victoria Falls from South Africa. It is the Luxury "Orient Express" style Rovos Rail and the journey takes 3 days from Johannesburg.
