How it all started

Our Story Savannah Adventures

Savannah Adventures began with a simple handshake during the COVID pandemic, when Matt Dohling and Taf Mashiri realised they shared the same vision: safaris should remain personal, honest, sustainable, and respectful of the traditions of the African bush.

Matt brought years of tourism experience and strong online know-how. Taf, a local entrepreneur deeply connected to Victoria Falls, learned guiding the classic way. Their strengths aligned naturally.

They never set out to create “just another operator,” but to revive traditional guiding: small groups, no large buses, open 4x4 jeeps, real conversations, personal contact, and customised safaris. Early mornings scented with dew and dust, and sunsets over the Zambezi remind guests what Africa has always offered — space, silence, authenticity.

Savannah Adventures grew step by step: one vehicle at a time and one trusted guide at a time. Nothing rushed. Nothing outsourced. Just steady, honest work built on trust, sustainability, and respect for the wilderness.

Today, Savannah Adventures stands for handcrafted safaris that honour the land and the wildlife. Matt and Taf continue to lead side by side, carrying forward the true spirit of the African bush every day.
